I asked where is the proof?
by disillusioned 2 inarguing with my husband again, i asked where is the proof that jesus looked down on earth in 1919 and chose a small group of bible students in america apart from them saying it in their magazines.
also where is the proof that satan and his demons were cast down in 1914 just because first world war started.
neither of these things are in the bible only in their magazines.

Eight days and counting. Since I asked the questions above my 'christian' husband has not spoken to me. I would love to know what's going on in his mind. I feel like he has personally disfellowshipped me! I am beginning to hate this religion.
Yesterday I went to my Uncle's funeral and in the pub later my brother-in-law (a witness) was getting into an argument with the vicar over religion, my mum (a witness) had to step in and stop them. Totally out of order using a funeral to try and preach to those who have different beliefs. He was probably counting the time!
He sounded so haughty. Really coming across that what you teach is wrong and we are right. He and his wife (my sister) didn't go to the church, wouldn't step into one. Turned up at the pub just to cause trouble. He left and my sister stayed with us. We were all quite embarrassed.

Book Burning and other burning of materials done by JW. Any experiences Please post
by adjusted knowledge inas a very young child i have memories of several book burnings done by jw families.
it wasn't something arranged by the congregation, but elders did participate in it.
it was actually scary for me as a child of only about 8 years old.

When my dad was studying his study conductor encouraged him to get rid of the wooden Buddha he had. They tried to break it with a hammer, it wouldn't break so they threw it on a bonfire on bonfire night. They watched it burning making sure it was all gone.
I also got rid of a lot of my albums. Fleetwood Mac because Stevie Nicks was a white witch! Queen, for obvious reasons. Don't suppose we should have had any really. 'Worldly Music'!

He said "you have really gone, and you are way off base"! Then he walked out of the room and we haven't spoken since.
The joys of being in a divided house.

I feel mad! I missed out on so many things as we all did. If you get out relatively young then yes you do have the rest of your life to look forward to but finding out the TTATT when you are older you have wasted the best years of your life sitting in meetings, going on ministry, going to assemblies, pioneering, studying for meetings. Not celebrating xmas, birthdays, Easter; especially when I had children, I felt really mean not giving them those experiences. I secretly do it now with them but it's not the same as it would have been when they were little. They missed out and it's my fault.

I knew two years ago. One was a married brother who ended up divorcing his wife because it turned out he was homosexual! He got disfellowshipped. The other was a woman who had five children, she stayed one for some years then changed her mind. Her husband was an elder and none of their children stayed in 'the truth'. -

Secret disfellowshipping
by disillusioned 2 ini always thought it was ridiculous that when a person was disfellowshipped they didn't tell us why.
everybody would speculate, but we wouldn't know the real reason.
also i thought they were only supposed to be disfellowshipped if they weren't repentant and wouldn't stop doing the wrong thing.

An old and very respected elder in my mum's congregation got disfellowshipped two years ago. Nobody had a clue as to why and everyone was really shocked, including me who hadn't been for years. I felt really sorry for this man. I asked my mum if she knew why and the only thing she could come up with was "he organized a lot of trips for the brothers and sisters so was taking too much time away from theocratic activities". I was shocked that she believed that was the reason why he was disfellowshipped. Although she was only guessing. He has now been reinstated. My dad who is no longer a witness used to call it a 'secret society' because of this.

So you have to assume that everyone disfellowshipped was not sorry for what they had done and were still doing it!
